PSG has now won the season-opening trophy on 14 different times.
The Parisian giants needed a dramatic leveler followed by a successful spot-kick decider to get past Marseille in the Gulf and secure a fourth straight Trophee des Champions title.
The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a comfortable win in the match featuring the Ligue 1 champions and the Coupe de France holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring early on.
However, Marseille fired two times in the closing moments to take a surprise lead. First, the English forward scored from the penalty spot, before the defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own goal.
In a breathtaking twist of events, the Portuguese striker grabbed a crucial leveler in the final moments to send the contest into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then emerged as the hero, saving decisive attempts from Matt O'Riley and Hamed Traore.
From the spot, Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and Desire Doue all scored with composure for PSG to complete a convincing shootout win.
The record winners PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now won this trophy for the 12th time in the last 13 seasons.
